Steve’s yoga has had a transformational effect on me. My flexibility and strength have greatly improved but the course offers more than just physical benefits. Steve’s holistic approach to wellbeing is brilliant and his yoga practice integrates the mind, body and spirit which has really helped me manage my stress levels. Steve personalises the sessions, making adaptations so that I’m not restricted by my arthritis. He is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend his Cheadle classes.

Why Empowered Yoga?

Yoga isn’t about forcing your body into shapes — it’s about learning to listen to it.

Empowered Yoga is about giving you the tools, choices, and confidence to adapt every class to your needs. You know your own body best. My role as a teacher is to guide, support, and offer options so you can find what feels right — whether that means taking a gentler variation, staying longer in a posture, or resting completely.

This approach not only supports you in class, but also helps you build the confidence to develop a personal practice at home — one that feels sustainable, supportive, and truly your own.

Who Is It For?

Unity Through Yoga’s Empowered Yoga is for anyone who wants to feel stronger, calmer, and more at ease in their own body. My classes are especially supportive if you:

  • Sit at a desk all day and want to release stiffness in your back, shoulders, or hips.

  • Feel the effects of stress and need practical tools to calm your mind and regulate your energy.

  • Want to maintain strength, balance, and mobility so you can move confidently now — and into the future.

  • Are returning to movement after time away and want a safe, supportive space to rebuild confidence.

  • Simply want a practice that’s inclusive, adaptable, and enjoyable, whether you’re brand new or have years of experience.

At Unity Through Yoga, you don’t need to be flexible, fit, or “yoga-ready.” You just need curiosity, your breath, and the willingness to show up for yourself.

About Steve & Unity Through Yoga

Hi, I’m Steve — founder of Unity Through Yoga and teacher of Empowered Yoga.

For me, yoga isn’t about flexibility or performance. It’s about building a relationship with your body that’s rooted in awareness, curiosity, and self-trust. Over years of practicing and studying yoga and movement, I’ve seen how powerful it is when we listen and adapt to what our bodies are telling us, rather than blindly following a teacher or striving for something beyond our current capabilities.

That’s what Empowered Yoga is all about: giving you the tools, confidence, and understanding to adapt your practice to your body, your energy, and your life.
You’ll learn how to move with more ease and strength in class — and how to carry that awareness into everyday life.

My teaching blends functional movement, accessible philosophy, and practices to regulate the nervous system — creating a space that feels supportive, inclusive, and real. Whether you come to class to build strength, manage stress, or simply breathe a little more deeply, you’ll always be encouraged to listen, explore, and make each practice your own.
